Drive Belt Installation/Break-In Procedure — Install Guide

EVP Installation

Installation

1
Wash your new belt in warm soapy water (recommended Dawn Dish Soap) and let it air dry to remove all residues during the manufacturing process.
2
With a green Scotch-Brite pad, crosshatch both primary and secondary clutch sheaves. This will clean up the surfaces on the sheaves and advance belt grip.
3
With a clean towel and brake cleaner, wipe down both the primary and secondary inside sheaves. This will make sure the clutch surfaces are clean of any brake dust from previous belts.
4
Install the CVT drive belt so you can read the writing on the belt from the outside of the car looking into the clutch box. Once the belt is on both primary and secondary clutches, remove the belt clutch tool and spin the secondary until the belt is seated.
5
The last and final step with our drive belt break-in procedure is key. Install the new belt and drive in low gear for the first 15-20 miles. “Take it easy”- no high-speed runs, no hard launches, vary the speed. This will ensure the new belt “seats” properly into the clutch sheaves.
