Installation

CHANGING OIL: Start the vehicle and let it idle for minimum 2 minutes, park it on a level surface. CHECKING ENGINE OIL: To properly check the engine oil, the engine oil should be check after riding or letting the vehicle idle for 10 minutes or until the temperature reading shows 5 bars. Shut the engine down and check the oil dip stick within 1 minute of shutting the vehicle off.

Remove or loosen the dip stick.

For these photos we removed the skid plate for better photos. This step is NOT needed. Underneath the vehicle you will locate (2) oil drains. On the right is the magnetic oil drain plug. One the left is the magnetic magneto drain plug. Remove both with a 17mm socket.

Locate the oil filter housing, remove (3) 8mm screws. Remove cap with O-Ring.

With a screwdriver lightly pry the oil filter out of the housing, there is a suction force which will allow more oil to drain out. Wipe the inside of the oil filter housing.

Remove and discard the oil filter cap O-ring. Install supplied O-ring and apply oil around the O-ring.

Install the new oil filter into the housing, notice this filter is different from the transmission and only has one hole. Install the hole down into the housing. Reinstall the oil filter cap and torque the 8mm screws to 80 in-lb.

Clean off debris from the magnets on the oil drain plugs. Remove the sealing washers and O-rings. Install the smaller sealing washing onto the magneto drain plug. Install the larger sealing ring and O-ring onto the oil drain plug. Reinstall both plugs and torque to 22 ft-lb.

Pour in 3 liters (2.96 qt) through the dipstick tube.

(OPTIONAL) before initial start-up, you can drown the engine by turning on the ignition, push the gas pedal to the floor, and turn the car over for 8 seconds. This will build oil pressure before initial start-up. You can start the vehicle and let it idle for 1 minute. Check oil level. It may not read MAX until you check when vehicle is at operating temperature.
