Installation

Grab the center of the steering wheel and squeeze together to pull off the middle cap.

Loosen the 24mm nut that holds the steering wheel to the shaft. Grab the steering wheel with your free hand and hold the bottom.

Disconnect the square white electrical plug, connecting the steering wheel to the main steering wheel harness.

Install the EVP steering wheel puller. Screw in the outside M6 bolts equally five turns. Center the aluminum brace so the center M8 bolt contacts the center of the steering shaft. Use a 13mm socket to tighten the center M8 bolt against the steering shaft to remove the OEM steering wheel.

Remove the (2) 10mm bolts holding the plastic housing around the shaft. The OEM harness sits inside this.

Remove (1) T-27 screw on the side of the steering column that attaches the plastic housing.

On the right side of the steering column, remove the plastic “T” support from the post.

Unplugged the steering wheel harness from the chassis harness. Press the tab on the chassis side to disconnect.

Remove the OEM steering wheel, harness, and plastic housing from the vehicle. Now to disassemble the factory steering wheel.

Remove (4) 8mm screws that attach the rear circle plastic cover to the steering wheel.

Grab the back of the steering wheel to pry off the backing plate, which is clipped into the wheel. Once removed from the back of the steering wheel, carefully slide the electrical connector through the access hole in the back of the steering wheel and put off to the side for now.

Remove the (7) Phillips screws on the back of the steering wheel that secure the front trim plate.

Remove the front trim plate and remove the two steering wheel buttons with wire harnesses. The steering wheel, front trim plate, (7) Philip screws, (4) 8mm screw and rear plastic cover will no longer be used.

Remove the wire harness from the plastic trim panel that was attached to the steering column, you will have to pry the rubber harness keeper through the plastic panel. It is easiest to remove the longer end of the harness. Use a flathead screwdriver and carefully fry the harness from the long end of the curly cord housing. The round curly cord cover and curly cord. Housing will no longer be used.

Lay a towel down and place the EVP billet multifunction button housing face down to begin installing the steering wheel buttons. Make sure the left and right buttons are in the correct position.

Install the left and right button as shown in the photo below. Use (6) M4-0.7 x 16mm stainless socket head cap screws to secure the factory buttons into the billet housing using a 2.5mm Allen.

Install the smaller supplied zip tie with mounting hole with the supplied M4-0.7 x 12mm screw. Be sure not to overtighten. Tuck the wire harness into the slot cutout of the billet housing to get the wires down as far as possible. Zip tie the plastic plug to the recently installed zip tie cable.

Trim the molded rectangular rubber on the OEM harness, so it fits into the machine slot in the billet button steering wheel housing. Just trim the perimeter off of the molded rubber part. Insert into the billet housing as shown in the photo below.

Using the larger mounted zip tie use the M4-0.7 x 12mm screw to secure it to the billet housing using the 2.5 mm Allen.

Take the EVP steering wheel and mount the quick release hub adapter to the back with the supplied hardware. Use a 1/8-inch Allen socket to secure the steering wheel to the hub adapter and apply a small amount of blue Loctite.

Place the assembled billet switch adapter over the hub of the steering wheel. Be sure to center the billet part and press down to get the billet sides over the suede of the steering wheel.

Flip the steering wheel over and install the three backer plates to the billet switch panel. Use the supplied (6) M4-0.7 x 16mm hardware. Hand start all of the hardware before you tighten any of them. You will have to press down on the steering wheel to align everything. Tighten the screws in a circular pattern until they’re all tight.

Change hardware in BOM. Flip the steering wheel over and install the carbon beauty plate with the supplied M3 x10 Torx screws. Be sure to install with the deviled side of the holes, facing up to the counter. Sink the hardware into the carbon plate. use a 2 mm Allen socket to tighten.

Install the steering wheel spline adapter with a supplied socket head nut. Use a 10 mm Allen socket and wrench. Use a blue Loctite to secure this nut.

Install the steering column beauty plate with the supplied (3) M6-1.0 x 16mm stainless flange head screws with a 4 mm Allen socket.

Install the EVP steering wheel to the spline.

Route the steering wheel harness and use the supplied Christmas tree zip tie to secure the harness in place. Reinstall the harness plastic “T” onto the post which was removed in the beginning steps. Reconnect the steering wheel wire harness to the chassis harness.
