Installation

With the vehicle on flat ground and in park, remove the (8) 13mm screws holding the transmission skid plate on. Careful this is heavy.

Remove the transmission drain plug, use a 5mm Allen socket. Make sure the O-ring comes with the plug.

Remove the old oil drain O-ring and replace it with a new one.

Reinstall the oil drain plug and torque it to 9 ft-lb.

OPTIONAL: If you aren’t replacing the transmission filter skip to step 13. Remove all (13) 8mm screws holding the oil pan on. It is best to have a drain pan underneath as there is still oil in the pan and filter.

Remove the oil pan and gasket.

Remove the transmission oil filter, make sure the O-ring comes with the old filter.

Inspect your new filter, do not pre-fill with oil. Make sure to apply fresh oil on the filter O- ring.

Install the new oil filter into the transmission, make sure the filter seats into the transmission fully.

Remove the old oil pan gasket and replace it with a new one.

Reinstall the transmission oil pan, torque all hardware to 88 in-lb.

Locate the transmission fill port on top of the transmission. On a 3-seat car, the fill port will be underneath the middle seat. On a 6-seat car, the fill port will be underneath the middle rear seat. It is best to place a towel or rag over the seat.

Remove the fill plug and sealing washer. Use a 6mm Allen socket. BE CAREFUL, use a magnet to retrieve. Replace the sealing washer.

Install a small funnel and add 4.3 Liters (4.5 qt) or CVTF. NOTE: if this is a brand-new transmission that has never had oil before: 3-seater takes 1.54 gal (5.8L). 6-seater take 1.56 gal (5.9 qt). Reinstall fill plug and torque to 15 ft-lb.

Start the vehicle and let idle for 10 seconds.

While idling, and your foot on the brake, shift into REVERSE and wait 5 seconds.

With your foot still on the brake, shift into DRIVE and wait 5 seconds.

Drive to a minimum of 13mph and DO NOT exceed 3000rpm.

Slowly brake until stopped.

Drive until the transmission temperature reaches 104 F Degrees. From a stand still, increase the speed up to 13mph at least three times.

Stop on a level surface.

Apply the brake and wait 2 seconds.

Apply the brake and shift into REVERSE and wait 10 seconds.

Shift into park and leave the vehicle idling.

With the engine idling, remove the oil level plug. YOU MUST CATCH THE FLUID THAT DRAINS OUT. Use a clean cup, replace the sealing washer while performing this step. Torque drain plug to 15 ft-lb.

Measure the amount of fluid collected. If less than 6.8oz was collected, you must add 16oz and repeat steps 1-11. If 6.8oz or more was collected the transmission fluid was and still is at the correct level. No further action is required.
